Word 2022 no longer has this adequacy. Using the Text Effects button at the bottom of the Format Font dialog, yous can requite the letter a solid or gradient fill. WordArt in 2007 could practise information technology, simply MS has gradually made WordArt less capable over the last two versions.

If you have whatever graphics software, yous may exist able to practice this effect with it. You can also download the free InkScape graphics program: InkScape Download. Here'southward a tutorial that shows how to fill text with a photo in InkScape: File Text with Image tutorial

Use smartart under the "insert tab". select "list". insert your text in the list box, delete all but one layer in the list box. highlight word on certificate, and so become to FORMAT>TEXT Make full>Moving-picture show. Also under format, select the wordart selection "abc transform" so you tin adjust the size of your text.  make the smartart box large enough to contain your text so you can motility information technology around, select the outer smartart box (it can be difficult to select the correct box, in that location is a clear box just outside the white solid line smartart box) and go to the format tab, select WRAPTEXT>INFORNTOFTEXT. hope this helps and makes sense!

I feel that  they should of kept this option in MS Word 2022. I don't know why they would want to take out this feature... Seems stupid.

Every bit a workaround, y'all tin create a document and salve it in Give-and-take 97-2003 .doc format. This makes the old-way WordArt available. You lot can use picture fill with that style of WordArt. When you lot get the WordArt just the mode you lot want it, copy it. Then utilize Abode | Clipboard | Paste | Paste Special to paste it into your .docx document as a picture (I tried information technology with .PNG, just you tin cull any picture format). You lot can and then, if you lot want, correct-click and use Save as Motion picture... to salve it out every bit a split file. The WordArt won't be editable, of class, only you do go the effect you're looking for.

If it is merely the alphabetic character "C," it can be washed every bit follows:

  • Under "Bones Shapes" choose "Block Arc" (third row, fourth shape).
  • Rotate and edit shape to form large "C."
  • Select "C" shape and correct click.
  • Cull "Format Shape" from the menu.
  • At "Format Picture" window choose "Fill."
  • Click on "Picture or texture make full" push button.
  • Cull "Insert from: "File…"
  • Browse to bring up file and and so "Insert" picture file.

Y'all will and then have the letter "C" in the form of a picture.
